You become an Ironman by finishing before midnight. But finishing the race is the easy part, compared to what it takes to start an Ironman. To be standing on the beach of Lake Okanagan on the last Sunday in August, means you avoided injury and illness, kept peace with your family, and trained 15 to 20+ hours every week, for the better part of a year. You're in Penticton BC, and you've got a date with Ironman Canada. Enjoy it, you've earned it.
